Summary

Supporting sales with modern UI and illustrations

We built a post-surgery risk assessment tool for the customer's sales team. The tool's purpose was to support sales at seminars and industry events by concretizing how to diminish risks after surgery. My role in this project was to modernize the UI/UX of an existing sales tool. The customer emphasized that the tool needed to draw attention at industry seminars. When the project ended, the customer felt we had exceeded expectations – especially regarding the look and feel of the tool.

My Contribution

Creative leadership and solid UI/UX/visual-work

As the project had a tight timespan, I took the initiative to prepare a proper kickoff for us to agree on goals, the sales tool's purpose, and the project schedule. This was vital to make sure we weren't spending time on the wrong things. Furthermore, as we were a completely new team, it was crucial to establish a shared mood and energy for future collaboration.

From my perspective, the other half of the project consisted of designing forms for the actual risk assessment. In addition to being user-friendly, the sales tool needed to stand out. As the tool was to be used at medical fairs, it needed to draw attention to the customer's booth. Even though the customer hadn't ordered illustrations, I saw them as a potentially important differentiating factor compared to competitors. I managed to convince the customer of the idea with quick sketches showing the style and topics of possible illustrations. Once more, having strong skills in visual communication proved to make a difference. The illustrations ended up being the main graphic identifier for the entire sales tool..
